Position Overview

Ledgent Finance & Accounting is partnering with a real estate client in Atlanta, Georgia, seeking a Sr. Property Accountant with experience across both property and corporate accounting functions. This role supports a portfolio of assets while managing broader financial activities at the corporate level. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in property accounting and a solid understanding of corporate finance within a property management environment, along with the ability to work cross-functionally with operations and leadership teams.

Responsibilities

· Manage full-cycle property accounting for a portfolio of real estate assets, including revenue recognition, expense tracking, and accruals.

· Maintain accurate general ledger activity for both property and corporate entities.

· Prepare and review monthly and quarterly financial statements for properties and the parent company.

· Oversee bank and credit card reconciliations across multiple property and corporate accounts.

· Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.

· Partner closely with property managers and operations teams to ensure financial accuracy and timely reporting.

· Lead cash flow tracking, forecasting, and reporting across both property and corporate functions.

· Monitor and record recurring liabilities such as taxes, insurance, and utilities, ensuring timely payments and accurate accruals.

· Assist with legal entity management, including registrations, renewals, and compliance tracking.

· Respond to internal and external audit requests and compile supporting documentation.

· Participate in accounting systems improvements and contribute to process optimization initiatives.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

· 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong background in both property and corporate accounting within a real estate or property management firm.

· Proficiency with real estate/property accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, AppFolio) required.

· Solid understanding of GAAP, accrual accounting, and financial reporting best practices.

· Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.

· Comfortable working independently and in fast-paced, evolving environments.

· Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
